# How to modify a device group?

**Editing a device group:**

Follow the steps given below to edit a device group:

- Go to Inventory > Groups.
- Click on the edit icon ![Edit icon](https://www.manageengine.com/network-configuration-manager/images/dgh2.png) on the right hand side of the table listing all the device groups. (Applicable for Grid View. Edit icon in widget view is present on top of the widgets)
- Make the necessary changes. (A public device group can't be changed to private, hence the respective option will be disabled for all the public device groups)
- Click on save.

**Deleting a device group:**

Follow the steps given below to delete a device group:

- Go to Inventory > Groups
- Click on the bin icon ![Bin icon](https://www.manageengine.com/network-configuration-manager/images/dgh3.png) on the right hand side of the table listing all the device groups. (Applicable for Grid View. Bin icon in widget view, is present on top of the widgets)
- Confirm the deletion and the group will be deleted.

*Note: 'All Devices Group' is a default group and cannot be modified and deleted, hence both the options are disabled for this particular group.*
