Patch Manager Plus Cloud Agent Upgrade
This document explains the process of Patch Manager Plus Cloud Agent upgrade.
What happens during an Agent upgrade?
- During an Agent upgrade, agent and DS binaries with the latest fixes or enhancements are pushed to the Patch Manager Plus server.
- Roaming agents will contact the server every 90 minutes to check for updates.
- In the case of a Distribution Server, the Patch Manager Plus server will be contacted based on the replication policy configured.
- Agents under Distribution Server will contact the Distribution Server every 90 minutes to check for updates.
- If there is a new agent or Distribution Server version available, roaming agents and Distribution Server will download the new agent and Distribution Server binaries respectively, directly from the Zoho CDN.
- Agents under Distribution Server will download the binaries from the Distribution Server.
- Agent binaries will approximately be, 21 to 25 MB in size and Distribution Server binaries will approximately be, 15 to 20 MB in size.
- If there is an unexpected failure during the upgrade, the scheduler in your agent machine will run every 60 minutes to complete the upgrade.
- Users are requested to whitelist the domains given in this list for an issue free agent upgrade
How do you check if an upgrade is completed?
- The current version of the agent is available on the SoM summary page. Navigate to Agent > Summary > Agent Version.
- The version can also be checked manually from the SoM computers page.
- You can additionally also view the "Agent upgraded" message in the Event Log Viewer.

Features:
- The ability to create Custom Groups containing computers/users from multiple domains has now been introduced.
- Localization is now available for Korean language.
- A user with write access to at least one module can now create Static and Dynamic computer custom groups.

Enhancements:
- DesktopCentral.exe has been renamed to UEMS.exe and will be reflected in the trayicon.exe and the shortcut icon.
- The product has been enhanced to display local time according to the logged-on user account settings.
- Option to force uninstall an existing agent and install a new one during manual installation for Linux OS has been introduced.
- Machine IP address is added as a new criteria for creating dynamic custom groups.
- A check for dpkg - already in use has been introduced.
- Admin users can choose to share access to custom groups based on users, computers or both under the custom group settings.
- Workgroup and Active Directory domain name can now be discovered for macOS machines automatically.
- Struts framework dependency has been removed for Schedule Reports and Query Reports.
- The API versions 1.0 and 1.1 are no longer supported.
- Struts framework dependency has been removed for Dashboard, Deployment, Settings in Patch Management.
