Error code: 50023 - Extended Security Updates (ESU) deployment failure

Problem

You are trying to deploy Windows 7, Windows server 2008, Windows server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 , 2012 R2 and Windows 10 ESU patches and the patch deployment fails with an error code 50023. 

Cause

This error indicates that you do not have an active ESU license or have not activated your ESU license after installation.
