PAM360 Remote Connect - Silent Operations

Silent operation is a process that facilitates the installation, upgrade or uninstallation of an application with zero interaction with the UI. This type of operation is helpful for applications with limited operation steps, where, before commencing, parameters are preset or manually entered.

Execute the steps and commands as instructed below to install, upgrade or uninstall the PAM360 Remote Connect application automatically.

Caution

  • The ISS file and Remote Connect installer used for silent operations should be of the same version.
  • Both the ISS file and installer should reside in the same folder, and the command should be executed in administrative mode.
  • ISS file names (for RemoteConnect_Install.iss, RemoteConnect_Upgrade.iss, and RemoteConnect_Uninstall.iss) can be changed, but the corresponding names should also be updated in their respective execution commands.

1. Installing the PAM360 Remote Connect

Follow these steps to perform a silent installation of PAM360 Remote Connect:

  1. Download the PAM360 Remote Connect installer (PAM360RemoteConnect.exe) from the website.
  2. Download the install script file (RemoteConnect_Install.iss) and place it in the same folder as the remote connect installer. Ensure that the ISS file and installer are of the same version.
  3. By default, Remote Connect will be installed at C:\Program Files\ManageEngine\PAM360 Remote Connect. To change the installation location, update the szDir property in the ISS script file.
  4. Now, open a command prompt in administrative mode in the folder containing the installer and ISS file.
  5. Execute the following command to silent install the PAM360 Remote Connect application:
    PAM360RemoteConnect.exe -s /f1".\RemoteConnect_Install.iss" -f2".\installation.log"

2. Upgrading the PAM360 Remote Connect

Follow these steps to perform a silent upgrade of PAM360 Remote Connect:

  1. Download the latest PAM360 Remote Connect installer (PAM360RemoteConnect.exe) from the website.
  2. Download the upgrade script file (RemoteConnect_Upgrade.iss) and place it in the same folder as the remote connect installer. Ensure that the ISS file and installer are of the same version.
  3. Now, open a command prompt in administrative mode in the folder containing the installer and ISS file.
  4. Execute the following command to silent upgrade the PAM360 Remote Connect application:
    PAM360RemoteConnect.exe -s /f1".\RemoteConnect_Upgrade.iss" -f2".\upgrade.log"

3. Uninstalling the PAM360 Remote Connect

Follow these steps to perform a silent uninstallation of PAM360 Remote Connect:

  1. Download the PAM360 Remote Connect installer (PAM360RemoteConnect.exe) from the website. The version should be same as the installed one.
  2. Download the uninstall script file (RemoteConnect_Uninstall.iss) and place it in the same folder as the remote connect installer. Ensure that the ISS file and installer are of the same version.
  3. Now, open a command prompt in administrative mode in the folder containing the installer and ISS file.
  4. Execute the following command to silent uninstall the PAM360 Remote Connect application:
    PAM360RemoteConnect.exe -s /f1".\RemoteConnect_Uninstall.iss" -f2".\uninstall.log"
