Since they can perform all AD tasks from one application, help desk technicians won't have to switch between multiple tools.
ServiceDesk Plus, integrated help desk and asset management software, helps IT teams manage IT tickets, hardware, and software efficiently. After configuring the settings in both ServiceDesk Plus and ADManager Plus, administrators can effortlessly perform AD management tasks from ServiceDesk Plus itself. SIEM applications are capable of aggregating data from multiple sources and monitoring this information to prevent any kind of security issues. Since they're essentially chronological records of events occuring in devices, OSs, and applications, logs are one of the most important sources of data for any SIEM tool. Log analysis helps admins troubleshoot, ensure compliance with regulations, investigate security incidents, and more.
Securing AD is very important for organizations and AD audit logs play a critical role in this. By integrating ADManager Plus with a Syslog server, SIEM applications will receive real-time records of technicians' activity in AD. As shown in the figure alongside, ADManager Plus first sends audit logs to a Syslog server. These logs can then be used by SIEM applications to monitor and detect security issues in AD.
Databases are back-end storage for various front-end applications. Popular enterprise database systems include Oracle DB, My SQL, MS SQL, and DB2.
A common example of database usage is with HR applications. When HR personnel enter employee details into their HR application, this information gets stored in a database connected to the HR application. Once they've updated the HR application, HR personnel usually reach out to AD administrators for user account creation. However, after integrating ADManager Plus with their organization's databases, AD user accounts are automatically created based on the user data in the organization's databases.
As shown in the figure alongside, admins can schedule automation tasks in ADManager Plus to streamline user account creation. Here, administrators can configure an Oracle or MS SQL database as the data source for user information. That way, ADManager Plus can fetch user information from the configured database and create user accounts at a time scheduled by the administrator.
