ServiceDesk Plus settings

ServiceDesk Plus is a combined help desk and asset management software that integrates trouble ticketing, asset tracking, purchasing, contract management and a knowledge base in one package. ServiceDesk Plus can be installed on any remote machine, or can be run from the same machine where ADManager Plus is installed. As a result, AD management functions, such as user creation, deletion, modification, enabling, disabling, password reset, etc., can be performed from within ServiceDesk Plus.

Steps to configure ServiceDesk Plus settings

    1. Log in to ADManager Plus and navigate to Admin.
    2. Select Integrations located under System Settings.
    3. Click ServiceDesk Plus located under ITSM/Help Desk tools.
    4. In the Service Desk Settings page, configure the following:
      • Server where ServiceDesk Plus is running: Enter the ServiceDesk Plus server name.
      • ServiceDesk Plus server port number: Enter the port number.
      • Integration Key: Enter the integration key generated in the ServiceDesk Plus portal.

      • Protocol Settings: Select the protocol for data transmission. Choose HTTPS or HTTP as configured in ServiceDesk Plus.
    5. To perform AD and exchange related tasks from the ServiceDesk Plus console, click on Enable tight integration with ServiceDesk Plus.
    6. Note: If the checkbox is unselected, the connection will be saved and updated, but AD and Exchange-related management actions cannot be performed from the ServiceDesk Plus console.

    7. Click Test Connection and Save to establish the connection and save the settings.
    Note:
    1. For security reasons, only the built-in admin of ADManager Plus can enable integration with ServiceDesk Plus.
    2. All management actions performed through ServiceDesk Plus are carried out using REST APIs. These REST API calls have usage limits based on the number of technicians licenses. To learn more about the REST API usage limit, click here.
