Computer migration

ADManager Plus offers both inter-forest and intra-forest computer object migration across the domains in your Active Directory environment.

    Prerequisites for computer migration:

Before migrating a computer from one domain to another, ensure that all required prerequisites are met on the selected computer. This process will disconnect the computer from its current domain and join it to the specified target domain.

    1. The computer you intend to migrate must be joined to a domain and should be accessible over the network.
    2. The Windows Remote Management (WinRM) service on that computer should be set to start automatically.
    3. Temporarily disable the firewall to prevent remote call failures. If disabling the firewall is not feasible, ensure the following ports are open:
      • WMI/Remote Control (RC): TCP 135
      • WinRM: TCP 5985 (HTTP), 5986 (HTTPS)
      • RPC Dynamic Ports: TCP 49152-65535
