    Lingering Objects

Once a deleted object crosses its tombstone lifetime (TSL) value, it is permanently deleted from your Active Directory (AD). In some cases, when the domain controller fails to replicate or when it is offline for a period longer than the TSL value, tombstone objects are retained in AD and are called lingering objects. It is crucial to delete these objects from your AD as they may affect normal domain functioning. Use the Lingering Objects report in ADManager Plus and get a detailed list of the lingering objects in your AD and get rid of them in a jiffy.

    To fetch this report,

    1. Navigate to the Reports tab and click on Other Reports.
    2. Under Replication Report, select Lingering Objects.
    3. Select the domain, the Source DC and the Deletion Pending DC and hit Generate.
    Note:
    • You can delete the lingering objects right away using the Delete option.
