Enable Remote Mailbox

This feature lets you enable remote mailboxes for existing Active Directory users and modify settings (like routing address, archive mailbox, etc.) of remote mailbox enabled users, in bulk.

    Steps to enable/modify remote mailbox

    1. Navigate to the Management tab.
    2. In the left pane, under Exchange Mailbox Tasks in Bulk User Modification, click Enable Remote Mailbox.
    3. In the Enable Remote Mailbox page, check the Enable archive for remote mailbox option to create an archive mailbox for the remote mailbox.
    4. Specify the routing address in the Remote Routing Address field.
Note: This field is mandatory while enabling a remote user mailbox.
    5. If you'd like to add more than one email address for the remote mailbox, specify the email addresses in the Additional E-Mail Addresses field.
    6. Check the Automatically update e-mail addresses based on email policy option to automatically update the specified e-mail addresses to suit your organization's updated email policy.
    7. Select the Domain from the drop-down list.
    8. Specify the users for whom you'd like to enable the remote mailbox in the Find the Users section. You can either search and select the users or upload a CSV file with a list of the desired users.
    9. From the list of users displayed, select the users for whom you would like to enable/modify the remote mailbox.
Note: The Recipient column in the table will help you learn if a remote mailbox has been enabled or not for a selected user.
    10. Click Apply.
Note: If the selected users already have a remote mailbox enabled, then the configured settings will override the existing settings.
