## Microsoft Azure Analysis Service - An Overview

Azure Analysis Service is a fully managed platform-as-a-service (PaaS) that provides enterprise-grade data modeling and analytics capabilities in the cloud. Applications Manager's [Azure Analysis Service monitoring](https://www.manageengine.com/products/applications_manager/azure-analysis-services-monitoring.html) tracks QPU consumption, memory utilization and limits, cleaner metrics, connection activity, row processing rates, thread pool activity, and job queue lengths.

## Monitored Parameters

Navigate to the **Category View** by clicking the **Monitors** tab. Hover over 'Child Monitors' under **Microsoft Azure** in the Cloud Apps table, and then select the **Analysis Services** monitor from the displayed tooltip. This action will display the bulk configuration view for Microsoft Azure Analysis Service in three tabs:

- **Availability** tab gives the availability history for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
- **Performance** tab gives the health status and events for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
- **List view** tab enables you to perform [bulk admin configurations](https://www.manageengine.com/products/applications_manager/help/bulk-config.html).

| Memory Thrashing | The average amount of memory thrashing in the Azure Analysis Service between the poll intervals (in %). |

| Mashup Engine QPU | The average amount of QPU usage by mashup engine processes in the Azure Analysis Service between the poll intervals. |
| **QUERY PROCESSING UNITS** |  |
| Query Processing Units | The average of Query Processing Units of the Azure Analysis Service between the poll intervals. |
| **MEMORY QUOTA** |  |
| Quota Blocked | The average number of current quota requests that are blocked until other memory quotas are freed in the Azure Analysis Service between the poll intervals. |
| **CLEANER CURRENT PRICE** |  |
| Cleaner Current Price | The average current price of memory, $/byte/time, normalized to 1000 in the Azure Analysis Service between the poll intervals. |

**Note:** Memory Usage metrics are mapped under Performance Polling. To adjust the polling interval, navigate to **Settings** → **Performance Polling**. In the **Optimize Data Collection** tab, select **Azure Analysis Service** as the Monitor Type and **Memory Usage** as the Metric Name. Then set Default Polling Status as required, by default opted as Never collect data.

Then set Default Polling Status as required, by default opted as Never collect data.

### Configuration

| Provisioning State | The current deployment state of the Analysis Services resource. Possible values: Deleting, Succeeded, Failed, Paused, Suspended, Provisioning, Updating, Suspending, Pausing, Resuming, Preparing, Scaling. |
| SKU Name | The name of the SKU level for the Analysis Services server. |
| SKU Tier | The Azure pricing tier associated with the SKU. Possible values: Development, Basic, Standard. |
| SKU Capacity | The number of instances in the read-only query pool. Valid range: 1—8. |
| Server Full Name | The full name of the Analysis Services resource used to connect to the server. |
