## Microsoft Azure Automation Account - An Overview

Azure Automation Account is a cloud-based automation service in Microsoft Azure that helps automate operational tasks using runbooks, update management, and hybrid workers. It enables organizations to automate and manage processes across Azure and hybrid environments.

**Note:** To enable Azure Automation Account monitoring, navigate to "Edit Monitor" and choose "Automation Accounts" from Azure Services, then update the monitor.

## Monitored Parameters

Navigate to the **Category View** by clicking the **Monitors** tab. Hover over **Child Monitors** under **Microsoft Azure** in the Cloud Apps table, and then select the **Automation Accounts** monitor from the displayed tooltip. This action displays the bulk configuration view for Azure Automation Account in three tabs:

- **Availability** tab gives the availability history for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
- **Performance** tab gives the health status and events for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
- **List view** enables you to perform [bulk admin configurations](https://www.manageengine.com/products/applications_manager/help/bulk-config.html).

The Microsoft Azure monitor provides a brief detail of the Azure Automation Account under the given subscription. The following metrics are monitored in the corresponding tabs:

### Performance Overview

| Parameter | Description |

| **TOTAL JOBS** |  |
| Total Jobs | The total number of jobs executed by the Automation Account between the poll intervals. |
| **TOTAL UPDATE DEPLOYMENT RUNS** |  |
| Total Update Deployment Machine Runs | The total number of update deployment machine runs between the poll intervals. |
| Total Update Deployment Runs | The total number of update deployment runs between the poll intervals. |
| **HYBRID WORKER PING** |  |
| Hybrid Worker Ping | The total number of successful hybrid worker ping responses between the poll intervals. |

### Configuration

| Resource Group Name | The name of the Azure resource group that the Automation Account belongs to. |
| Location | The Azure region where the Automation Account is deployed. |
| State | The current state of the Azure Automation Account (for example, Ok, Suspended, or Unavailable). |
| SKU | The pricing tier of the Azure Automation Account. |
| Public Network Access | Indicates whether public network access is enabled or disabled for the Automation Account. |
| Creation Date | The date and time when the Azure Automation Account was created. |
