ManageEngine Applications Manager 11 will hereafter use a PostgreSQL Database as its default backend

 

The existing MySQL backend used by customers will work without any problems so that existing custom reporting done by you will continue to work. There is no compulsion to move to PostgreSQL as of now. Support for MySQL will continue for sometime in the future.

However customers who want to move immediately to use PostgreSQL will have to wait till we release the migration tool.

Feature Additions

• Out-of-the-box monitoring support for the following monitors was introduced:

• Amazon S3 monitoring.

• Windows Azure monitoring.

• VMware vFabric tc servers.

• VMware vFabric RabbitMQ.

• Web Transaction Monitoring was enhanced and rechristened as APM Insight, supported for Java, .NET and Ruby on Rails web transactions.

• End User Experience Monitoring (EUM) add-on was introduced. This included LDAP, DNS, Ping and Mail Server RTT.

• Support for monitoring the validity and expiry dates of SSL Certificates was introduced.

• Support for monitoring Oracle JRockit JVM and IBM JVM in Java Runtime Monitor was introduced.

• Capacity planning reports for detailed capacity analysis of CPU, memory, network, disk utilization introduced.

• Cloud Starter Edition, a new edition that supports all private/public cloud and open source apps was introduced.

• Site24x7 was integrated with Applications Manager to monitor website performance, both from within the corporate LAN and from multiple locations outside the data center.

• iPhone App for iOS-based devices and Mobile Web Client for other smartphones was intoduced for comprehensive application monitoring on the go.

• Support for embedding different world map views.

• Support for monitoring SSLv3 enabled websites in URL monitoring.

• SNMP V3 support for monitoring servers, sending and receiving Traps.

• Server monitoring was enhanced to support hardware monitoring, network-mapped drives and volume mount points.

• Web Transaction Recorder tool was enhanced with capabilities to record AJAX request and option to re-record the sequence.

• AS400 monitoring was enhanced to support specific job, subsystem and history log monitoring.
