The existing MySQL backend used by customers will work without any problems so that existing custom reporting done by you will continue to work. There is no compulsion to move to PostgreSQL as of now. Support for MySQL will continue for sometime in the future.
However customers who want to move immediately to use PostgreSQL will have to wait till we release the migration tool.
