    Deploying DC Agent for Fresh SDP Installations


    If you have installed AssetExplorer recently (Build No 6900 and higher), you need ManageEngine Desktop Central for performing scans on Windows, Mac, and Linux machines.

    Note: If any of the following ME products are installed and used in your environment, we recommend you contact our support before proceeding with this installation for configuring changes in asset inventory.

    • Patch Manager Plus On-Premise/Cloud
    • Remote Access Plus On-Premise/Cloud
    • Device Control Plus
    • Vulnerability Manager Plus
    • Patch Manager Plus Cloud
    • Desktop Central Cloud

    To download Desktop Central,

    • Go to Admin >> Discovery >> Agent Configuration.

    • Select the Agent for Windows/Linux/Mac.

    • You will be prompted to Download and Install Desktop Central. You can skip this step and proceed with Desktop Central integration if you have already installed the desktop Central.

    • Click Download and Install.

       

    • Configure the proxy settings by entering Host Name, Port Name, Username, and Password. Click Download and Install.

    • Once the installation is complete, you will get an option to download the Agent.

    • Desktop Central can only be installed on a Windows machine.
    • A minimum of 1GB of free space is required at the target location.
    • DC would be installed in HTTPS mode and DB would be PGSQL by default.

    • Make sure to have the following ports open: 8020, 8383, 8027, and 8028. To know more about the ports used, refer link here
