Problem
You get an error message on the Endpoint Central web console stating "APIPA IP Address Detected"
Cause
When Endpoint Central server loses connectivity with the DHCP server, a temporary IP address will be assigned by Windows. This temporary IP address is called Automatic Private IP Address (APIPA). APIPA IP address range will be from 169.254.0.1 to 169.254.255.254. Whenever APIPA IP address is detected for the Endpoint Central server, Endpoint Central agents will find it hard to reach the server.
Resolution
You will have to perform the following steps on the computer where the Endpoint Central server is installed:
If the problem still persists, then you will have to check the network connectivity.
Note : It is always recommended to assign Static IP Address for Endpoint Central server.
