# How to Configure DHCP Server for PXE?

## Overview

The DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server automatically assigns IP addresses and other network configurations to devices within a network. It can also be configured to provide PXE (Preboot Execution Environment) boot details, allowing client devices to locate and boot from a deployment server. This document explains how to configure PXE boot options on a DHCP server.

## Steps to Configure a DHCP Server

1. Enter the DHCP server login details and click **Troubleshoot**.

2. Once the available scopes are fetched, double-click on the scope in which the PXE boot options need to be configured.

3. When the **Boot Configuration** tab opens, update the PXE server IP and select the required boot configurations based on the device firmware type:

   - **Legacy BIOS:** `boot\pxeboot.n12`
   - **UEFI 64-bit:** `EFI\Boot\bootx64.efi`
   - **UEFI 32-bit:** `EFI\Boot\bootia32.efi`
   - **Multi Boot:** Check all the boxes. After selecting the required options, click **Update**.

4. The updated scope options will be visible under the corresponding scopes.

5. Use the **Update** option at the rightmost end to modify or change the configured settings as needed.
