How to integrate Desktop Central with Freshservice? 

Desktop Central - Freshservice integration will augment the ticket-handling capabilities of Freshservice by letting help desk technicians perform endpoint management functionalities right from the ticket window for faster ticket resolution. 

Prerequisites to be met before configuration of the app 

  1. Desktop Central build number should be 10.0.468 or later versions.
  2. For establishing a secure communication between Desktop Central and Freshservice, ensure that the host name of Desktop Central server holds a valid SSL certificate signed by Certificate Authority (CA). 
  3. The Freshservice API key provided must have administrative privileges. 

Steps to be followed if you are an existing Desktop Central user

  1. Install Desktop Central app directly from Freshservice marketplace. 
  2. Specify Desktop Central server URL/FQDN name/IP address and furnish valid Desktop Central administrator credentials. 
  3. To fetch Freshservice API key, navigate to the top-right corner of the console > Profile settings > copy and paste the API key displayed. Provide the domain name of Freshservice used for integration. 
  4. Map Desktop Central users with Freshservice agents for each agent to be able to perform endpoint management activities for resolving tickets. 

Steps to be followed if you are new to Desktop Central 

  1. Download Desktop Central and ensure that the server is running on build version 10.0.468 or later versions. Install Desktop Central agents on computers that you wish to manage using Desktop Central. 
  2. Specify Desktop Central server URL/FQDN name/IP address and furnish valid Desktop Central administrator credentials. 
  3. To fetch Freshservice API key, navigate to the top-right corner of the console > Profile settings > copy and paste the API key displayed. Provide the domain name of Freshservice used for integration. 
  4. Map Desktop Central users and Freshservice agents for each agent to be able to perform endpoint management activities for resolving tickets.
