# How to share and control a remote desktop? Last Updated On: 08 Sep 2026 2 minutes read ## Description Endpoint Central's Remote Control capabilities provide access to any remote computer on the network. This requires the **Agent** to be installed on client systems. The following steps assist in sharing and controlling a remote desktop. **Note** Enable **ActiveX** controls in the IE browser from where a connection to the client systems is being established (not applicable for Endpoint Central Cloud). ## Steps to share and control a remote desktop using **Endpoint Central** 1. Define the [Scope of Management](https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/help/device-onboarding/scope-of-management-how-to.html) to include the computers to be managed. **Note** For WAN computers, the 8443 port needs to be enabled on the external firewalls, if any. 2. Go to **Tools** tab and select **Remote Control**. 3. In the Action field, click the **Connect** link corresponding to the computer name to be connected.
