Upgrade to macOS Golden Gate via Patch Deployment
Using Endpoint Central, you can deploy macOS 27 Golden Gate to multiple Mac devices in your network.
Description
You can upgrade your machines to the latest version of macOS 27 Golden Gate seamlessly via patch deployment.
Prerequisites
Ensure that the Endpoint Central agent version is 11.5.2606.01 or later on the target Mac devices before deploying the macOS Golden Gate upgrade patch.
Note
The macOS Golden Gate upgrade patch will not be detected if the customer's product version is below the recommended version.
System requirements
Operating system: macOS 12.0 and later
Compatible systems
Here's the list of systems that support macOS 27 Golden Gate:
- MacBook Neo (2026)
- MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- iMac with Apple silicon (2021 and later)
- Mac mini with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- Mac Studio (2022 and later)
- Mac Pro with Apple silicon (2023)
Note
macOS 27 Golden Gate is not compatible with Mac devices powered by Intel processors.
Creating a backup
Before installing an upgrade, it is always recommended to create a backup of your machines. You can use Time Machine to create a backup of your Mac devices.
Upgrading via patch deployment
You can upgrade your Mac devices to macOS Golden Gate by deploying the following patch:
- The patch will be shown only on compatible systems under Missing Patches after a successful DB sync.
- During deployment, end users will be requested for credentials to perform the upgrade. This can be skipped if the endpoints are enrolled in Endpoint Central MDM. Learn more about skipping the user authentication.
