# Patch Deployment Failed - "File System Corrupted" ## Problem You are trying to install patches to one of the computers, and deployment of more than 5 patches have failed. You might get one of the following error messages: - "Unknown Error Code: 2145124329" - Failure The SMI primitive installer failed during setup or servicing - Failure Element not found ## Cause You might get one of the above-listed error messages if the client's operating system is corrupted. ## Resolution You will have to follow the steps mentioned below: 1. Refer to this article, and use the [System File Checker Tool](https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/kb/929833) to resolve this issue. 2. If the problem still persists, you will have to use the [System Readiness Tool](https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/kb/947821) to get it fixed. 3. Else use the troubleshooting patch which we've released by following the steps given in [this document](https://www.manageengine.com/patch-management/knowledge-base/troubleshooting-errors-in-windows-updates.html) to resolve this issue.
