Oracle Linux patch failure

Problem

Oracle Linux patch scanning and deployment fails with the error: Scan failed due to incorrect meta files.

Cause

Offline metadata files are not replicated in the Distribution Server of your branch office

Resolution

The replication of meta data is by default disabled for Oracle Linux. To enable the same, follow the steps given below:

1. Download the following zip folder: OracleLinux
2. Extract the contents of the folder
3. Run 'EnableOracleLinuxReplication' batch file, on the Distribution server hosted machine, to enable the replication in Distribution Servers

In case you need to disable the replication process due to some reason, for instance, when all your Oracle Linux machines have been moved out of the branch office or so on, follow the steps given below:

1. In the same zip folder: OracleLinux
2. You will find another batch file after extracting the contents named 'DisableOracleLinuxReplication'
3. Run this file, on the Distribution server hosted machine, to disable replication of Oracle Linux meta data in Distribution servers

If the problem still persists, please contact support with the Server, Distribution Server, and Agent logs.
