# How to Download and Install WinPE Tool

In Endpoint Central, the WinPE tool is required to perform image deployment and offline image creation. Follow the steps below to download and install the WinPE tool.

## How to Download & Install Windows Assessment and Deployment Toolkit (ADK)

1. Download [adksetup.exe](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2289980) and [adkwinpesetup.exe](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2289981).

**Note:** Please download and install both files to use the ADK tool for creating bootable media.

2. Run **adksetup.exe** as administrator to open the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit wizard.
3. Select "Install the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit to this computer".

4. Under "Select the features you want to install," enable:
   - Deployment Tools
   - User State Migration Tool (USMT)
5. Click **Install**.
6. Run **adkwinpesetup.exe** as administrator. The Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit wizard will open.
7. Select "Install the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit to this computer".
8. Under "Select the features you want to install," enable:
   - Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE)
9. Click **Install**.

The Windows PE installation has been completed successfully.
