# The specified server cannot perform the requested operation!

## Problem

You can see the error message "The specified server cannot perform the requested operation" on the screen when you try to do either of the following:

1. Copying the image creator component during image creation.
2. Accessing image/driver repository.

## Cause

This error occurs when you're trying to access a remote network share but are unable to do so due to multiple reasons. Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

## Resolution

If you cannot gain access to a computer even after the folder is shared, you may have to open the registry and perform the following actions on the computer where the network share is available:

1. Click **start -> run** then type **services.msc**. Restart **server** services.
2. Try accessing the Windows shared folder again from the target machine.
3. Restart the PC if the problem still exists.

If the problem still exists, follow the steps given below:

1. Click **start -> run** then type **regedit**.
2. Go to **HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache** and set the registry key to "**1**".
3. Go to **HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\Size** and set the registry key to **3**.
4. Click **start -> run** then type **services.msc**. Restart **server** services.
5. Try accessing the Windows shared folder again from the target machine.
6. Restart the PC if the problem still exists.
