# Removing unwanted files from Endpoint Central ## Which files can I delete from the folders in the Central Server to increase space? ### Description Central Server requires a certain amount of free disk space to function effectively. Ideally, you should have at least 5 GB of free disk space in the drive where the Central Server is installed. Periodically checking the size of your folders is recommended. When the size exceeds the limit, deleting unnecessary files can prevent space-related issues affecting log creation and patch application. This document provides details on which files can be safely deleted. ### Steps 1. Configure the **Patch Cleanup Settings** to automate the removal of superseded patches or patches older than a specified period. Configure the **Configuration Cleanup Settings** to automate the removal of unused configurations. A configuration is considered unused if it remains unchanged for a specified number of days. 3. Manually delete specific files to free up space in the drive where the Central Server is installed: 1. Navigate to the Central Server installation folder. 2. **Delete the following files from the respective folders:** > **Note:** Stop the Central Server before deleting any files. It is recommended to retain the last backup file in each folder. #### Folder path: \bin\ - Zipped log files (e.g., `UEMS_CentralServer_Logs.zip`) - Heap profiler files (`.hprof`), created during crashes (e.g., `java_pid9448.hprof`) - MiniDump files (`.mdmp`), created after native crashes - Null folders #### Folder path: \PatchBackup\ - Folders with names formatted as `` (e.g., `70137-Feb-22-2011-15-10`) - Retain the folder with the previous build number #### Folder path: \Patch\ - Folders named `ManageEngine_CentralServer-BuildNumber` (e.g., `ManageEngine_CentralServer-10.0.0-SP-252`) - Portable Pixmap Format files (`.ppm`) - Retain the folder with the previous build number > **Note:** You can change storage locations to another drive or shared network location to increase available space.
