Viewing AnyConnect VPN smart license usage

Quick search

Objective: To view the AnyConnect VPN smart licenses usage

    Problem Description:

Assume a scenario where you have deployed firewall FTD, which is managed using FMC . Also assume you use smart licenses which are managed via a smart account. When you purchase Cisco AnyConnect Plus licenses, they are automatically added to your smart software licenses dashboard. But finding any license related information on the FTD or via FMC with regards to licensing could be a challenge.

You can view the live connections at any point of time on the command line interface on FTD using the below command:
    show vpn-sessiondb

However the maximum limitation by licenses cannot be viewed on the FTD of the Cisco devices as it doesn't have the means to query and obtain this piece of information.

Cisco Smart Software Manager can be used to manage multiple licenses on multiple devices. All the AnyConnect licenses can be viewed and managed here.

Though the maximum limitation by licenses cannot be viewed on the FTD of the Cisco devices as of version 6.5, Cisco has stated this ability might be included in the future .

Meta-D: Cisco Smart Software Manager can be used to manage multiple licenses on multiple devices. View the live connections on the command line interface on FTD usage.
