Event ID 1100 – MS Exchange ActiveSync

Category MS Exchange ActiveSync.
Sub category Device requests.
Description This event occurs when the ActiveSync device requests made by the users are blocked.
Probable cause Firewall configurations do not allow these device requests.

Event ID 1100:

This event indicates that the ActiveSync device requests made by the users in your Exchange organization are being blocked. Event 1100 mostly happens when the HTTP OPTIONS method request isn't allowed by the firewall. You might have to go and check the filters options applied to the client access server to resolve the issue. You can monitor the status of requests using Exchange Reporter Plus’ ActiveSync reports.

Exchange Reporter Plus is a reporting, monitoring and change auditing tool for Exchange servers, Exchange Online and Skype for Business servers. This tool allows you to get regular updates on and monitor the ActiveSync devices connected to your Exchange organization. Steps to generate ActiveSync reports:

  1. Go to the Reports tab on the top pane.
  2. Navigate to Exchange Server > OWA & ActiveSync > ActiveSync General Reports orActiveSync Request Reports.
  3. Choose a suitable report as you require.
  4. Select the name of the organization
  5. Click on Generate Now.

Steps to fetch monitoring report to check ActiveSync connectivity:

  1. Go to the Monitoring tab on the top pane.
  2. Navigate to Exchange Server > Server Monitoring.
  3. Choose the ActiveSync Connectivity report from the list of reports.
  4. Enter the period and type of view for report generation.
