Event ID 3005:

This event indicates that there is an issue with the ActiveSync devices' sync with your organization’s Exchange server. The event indicates that any change in the devices, such as items being deleted, are not replicated in the server.To avoid this mismatch, you must keep a close watch over every sync activity. The Exchange Reporter Plus way

Exchange Reporter Plus is a reporting, monitoring and change auditing tool for Exchange servers, Exchange Online and Skype for Business servers. This tool helps you monitor all aspects of ActiveSync including device information and request status.

Steps to monitor ActiveSync devices:

  1. Go to the Reports tab on the top pane.
  2. Navigate to Exchange Server > OWA & ActiveSync > ActiveSync General Reports or ActiveSync Request Reports.
  3. Choose a suitable report as you require.
  4. Select the name of the organization.

You can schedule these reports to get regular updates and also export reports in any of these four formats: HTML, CSV, PDF and XLS. You can add or remove columns from the report and customize them as you require. Exchange Reporter Plus also offers advanced filters for the reports.

Steps to check ActiveSync connectivity:

  1. Go to the Monitoring tab on the top pane.
  2. Navigate to Exchange Server > Server Monitoring.
  3. Choose the ActiveSync Connectivity report from the list of reports.
  4. Enter the period and type of view for report generation.
