# Switch Power over Ethernet (PoE) Monitoring ManageEngine OpUtils enables Power over Ethernet (PoE) monitoring for PoE-enabled network devices using SNMP. The PoE Monitoring feature provides real-time visibility into power availability, power consumption, and maximum power capacity at the switch and port levels. With this feature, you can monitor the power consumption of switches and ports to assess power usage and optimize your network infrastructure. - [How to discover PoE-enabled switches](https://www.manageengine.com/products/oputils/help/poe-monitoring.html#discover) - [PoE monitoring for switches](https://www.manageengine.com/products/oputils/help/poe-monitoring.html#monitoring) - [Viewing PoE-enabled switches in the dashboard](https://www.manageengine.com/products/oputils/help/poe-monitoring.html#dashboard) ## How to discover PoE-enabled switches In OpUtils, once the switches are discovered using their OIDs, their PoE status is automatically retrieved and displayed as **Active** or **Inactive**. To view the PoE status, go to **Switch Port Mapper**. In the **Switch Tree View**, all discovered devices are displayed. In the **PoE Status** column, you can view whether a switch is PoE-enabled.
