Computer Specific Settings
In deployment template, post deployment settings can be configured based on the user's requirements. For instance, if you have to deploy OS to the computers of employees belonging to a number of teams in an enterprise, you can create different templates that will be common to different groups of employees. However, if you have certain details like computer name, user profile, domain, etc., that are specific or unique to certain computers, creating different templates are not required. You can achieve this effortlessly by configuring the different computers with their Service Tag / MAC address under Computer specific settings.
Configure computer details
Service Tag / MAC Address
The Service Tag of a computer is a unique identifier that will be used to identify the target computer and assign the details configured under computer-specific settings. If the Service Tag is unavailable, you may provide the machine's physical Ethernet MAC address. Specify either the target computer's Service Tag or its MAC address.
The "Service Tag / MAC Address" field is available starting from OSD build 1.4.2609.01 and DC build 11.5.2611.01. Prior to these versions, providing the MAC Address was mandatory, whereas the serial number could be optionally included.

Choosing user profile backup: While upgrading the operating system of a computer, it is recommended to create a backup of the user profiles on that computer. These user profiles are unique to each computer. Hence, under post deployment details in computer specific settings, you can associate the user profiles to the corresponding computers.
Selecting users: You can select or deselect the individual user profiles that you want to migrate. The user account passwords can also be modified, by clicking on the edit password button.
- You cannot edit the password for domain user accounts.
- You can choose to provide a default password for all the user accounts, except for domain users.
- Click on 'Configure now' to set the default password.
Adding computer name and domain: If you do not want your target computers to have a computer name pattern or a serial number, you can assign computer names to the different target computers. Adding the computer to the domain can be done under computer specific settings by choosing the configured domain from the drop-down list. The freedom to choose the domain depends on the user profile backup. If the backup selected comprises of domain users, then the target computer's domain cannot be changed. By default, the computer will be added to the domain based on the user profile backup.
Adding user accounts: You can also add additional user accounts to the computer. You can add a local user or a guest user. You can also add existing users from a domain.
