# How to configure an Image Repository Last Updated On: 18 Oct 2025 3 minutes read The prerequisites for creating and deploying an image using OS Deployer involve creating two repositories: an image repository and a driver repository. As the name indicates, the images created using online and offline imaging processes are stored in the image repository. OS Deployer follows a similar process for creating an image repository as well as a driver repository. The steps in this document can be used to create an image repository in the following scenarios: 1. To create an image repository by clicking the image repository tab from the side panel. 2. This name cannot be changed later. 2. **Remote Office:** The remote office that is to be associated with the image repository. 3. **Share Path:** The UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path of a [network share](https://www.manageengine.com/products/os-deployer/help/how-to-share-a-folder.html) that is already configured. This path must have "Read" access for everyone, and "Write" access for the following credential. 4. **Credential:** This User credential must have "Read" and "Write" access to the machine where the image repository is located. 5. **IP Address (Optional):** The IP address of the machine where the network share is located. 6. **FQDN (Optional):** The FQDN of the machine where the network share is located. 7. Click **Save** to create the image repository.
