Configuring SAML SSO for Freshdesk

These steps will guide you through setting up the single sign-on functionality between ADSelfService Plus and Freshdesk

Prerequisite

Freshdesk (Service Provider) configuration steps

1. Now, log in to your Freshdesk administrator account.

2. Select Admin tab.

3. Choose Security under General Settings.

   

4. Enable Single Sign On(SSO).

5. Paste Login URL you had copied in Step 5 of Prerequisite in  SAML Login URL field

6. Paste Logout URL  you had copied in Step 5 of Prerequisite in Logout URL field.

7. Paste the fingerprint value you had copied in Step 5 of Prerequisite in Security Certificate Fingerprint field. 

8. Under Admin Notifications give an email address of your choice in Send notifications to field.

9. Click Save.

ADSelfService Plus (Identity Provider) configuration steps

1. Now, switch to ADSelfService Plus’ Freshdesk configuration page.

2. In the Domain Name field, enter the domain name of your email address. For example, if you use johndoe@thinktodaytech.com to log in to Freshdesk, then thinktodaytech.com is the domain name.

3. In the SP Identifier enter your unique/organization name found in freshdesk login URL. For example, if your login URL is thinktoday.freshdesk.com, then the SP Identifier is thinktoday. 

4. Enter a Description for the connection.

5. In the Available Policies field, select the policies for which you wish to enable single sign-on.

6. Click Save.

   Your users should now be able to sign in to Freshdesk through ADSelfService Plus.

   For Freshdesk, both IdP-initiated and SP-initiated flows are supported.
