Recording Remote Sessions
Remote Access Plus comes with the capability to let you carefully supervise your remote sessions by recording them.
Why should you record remote sessions?
- Recording your sessions will let you keep track of absolutely everything that happens during a remote session.
- The recorded files make auditing effortless.
- Certain troubleshooting operations are tricky and may involve a lot of steps. These recorded files can serve as training materials.
How to enable screen recording?
- From your Remote Access Plus web console, navigate to Tools -> Remote Control -> Screen Recording.
- Check the Enable Screen Recording option.
- Select the compressor and decompressor format for the video. If the selected Codec is not available on the remote computer, the default codec will be used.
- Specify the number of Frames per second. A higher frame rate results in smoother mouse movements but increases video size. For auditing purposes, it's better to leave it at the default value.
- Select the color quality (i.e., the number of pixels used to represent the color of a single pixel). Higher color quality broadens the color depth range but also increases the video size.
- Specify the Maximum Storage size for recorded videos. When the storage limit is exceeded, older recordings will be automatically deleted.
- Define what should happen if the remote computer runs out of disk space during recording — either stop recording and continue the session or disconnect the session.
- To restrict downloads to authenticated users, enable the checkbox to require the Remote Access Plus server’s username and password before download.
- To notify users that a session is being recorded, select the Enable User Notification checkbox, enter the message, and save.
You have now successfully configured the settings to record every remote control session.
