# SharePoint external sharing reports

The Items Shared with External Users report narrows the focus to individual files, folders, and list items made accessible to people outside the organization. For each shared object, it shows whether access was granted directly to a named external user or through a sharing link, identifies the recipient, and indicates their access type (e.g., *Read* or *Edit*).

The Item Wise Sharing Access report is the most detailed item-level view, capturing the full sharing history behind each file and folder rather than a point-in-time list of recipients. In addition to details about the shared item and who initiated the share, it records the exact date and time the sharing event happened.

## [Anonymously Shared Items](https://www.manageengine.com/sharepoint-management-reporting/anonymously-shared-items-report.html?utm_source=spmp-feature-page&utm_medium=sharepoint-external-sharing-reports&utm_content=heading)

Anonymous "Anyone" links are the broadest sharing mechanism in SharePoint Online, where no sign-in is required, and, as Microsoft notes, there is no way to attribute use of the link to a specific person. The Anonymously Shared Items report gives you a tenant-wide list of every file and folder currently reachable through an active Anyone link. It is the report that turns unauthenticated exposure from a blind spot into something you can review and revoke.

The Expired Anonymously Shared Items report is the counterpart to the Anyone links view, covering Anyone links whose expiration date has already passed. Beyond the object, its location, the user who shared it, and the access level, it adds two details built for governance: when the link was set to expire and when that expiration setting was last modified.
