# How to trigger a backup for a device?

Follow the steps given below to trigger a backup for a particular device or a set of devices.

- Select one or more devices from the list in Inventory.
- Click on the 3 horizontal dots ![3 horizontal dots](https://www.manageengine.com/network-configuration-manager/images/more-option.png) on the top right corner of the page to get more options.
- Click on "Backup" option

Status for backup operation can be checked as soon as it is triggered, in the device list under "Last Operation Status" column. You can also schedule a periodic backup for the device(s).
