Microsoft Visual Studio Patch Download Failure

Description

The download of Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 patches fails because the download URL is dynamic and direct download of patches are only available to the registered customers. Therefore, you can manually download the patch and upload it directly to the patch store directly from the console using the Upload Patches option.

Enable Visual Studio online installation

1. Navigate to Admin → Patch Database Settings → Microsoft Updates.
2. Enable Non-Security Updates.
3. Open Supported Patches and search for patch ID 111198.
4. Deploy the dependency patch to enable online installation for supported Visual Studio updates.

Enabling Non-Security Updates makes applicable updates available for detection. The updates are downloaded automatically only when automatic download of missing patches is enabled.

Steps

Follow the steps given below to resolve this issue:

1. Manually download the updates for your preferred edition (Community/ Professional/ Enterprise) of Microsoft Visual Studio 2019.
2. Click on Upload near the Download failed error message. Using the Upload option you can install this patch.
3. Otherwise, navigate to Patches -> Downloaded Patches -> Upload Patches -> Search for the Patch ID of Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 and click on Upload under Action.
4. Then select Install Patches to deploy.
