2024 IN REVIEW

Well, here we go again!

Yet another year wrapped up means yet another year in review for you. Starting this year, the ManageEngine PAM Newsletter will be published under the name PAMphlet.

2024 was a year filled with interesting product updates, cherished analyst recognitions, a myriad of events around the globe, and much more.

Here's a look at everything that went down with ManageEngine PAM in 2024 and a glimpse at curious new stuff that we have planned for the coming year.

Hurrahs and huzzahs

In 2024, we secured the Challenger position in two of the most celebrated analyst recognitions: the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ and the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Privileged Access Management.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant annually examines vendors on the basis of their ability to execute and their completeness of vision. On that note, this time around, we have moved ever so close to the Leaders quadrant due to the progress we've made with the completeness of our vision.

The KuppingerCole Leadership Compass presents an objective analysis of the market, examining the strengths, challenges, and capabilities of various PAM vendors. It offers detailed insights into the current state of the PAM landscape, key drivers, and emerging trends.

2024 featured news

We have a feast of new features ready for you to try. Here's a detailed look at some of them.

Cloud infrastructure entitlement management - ManageEngine PAM360

Cloud infrastructure entitlement management

PAM360 now boasts a fully fledged cloud infrastructure entitlement management (CIEM) module out of the box. The CIEM module proactively identifies risks from excessive permissions, policy violations, and misconfigurations, providing a comprehensive view of vulnerable permissions across AWS cloud environments. With built-in detection and mitigation workflows, it supports the achievement of zero standing privileges, effectively reducing security vulnerabilities to protect cloud infrastructure from end to end.

PAM360's SDK and SCIM connectors - ManageEngine PAM360

PAM360's SDK and SCIM connectors

The SDK opens up new pathways for developers and administrators, offering seamless integrations of PAM360 features with DevOps solutions, CI/CD platforms, and any other microservices and software across an organization. By leveraging the SDK, developers can efficiently embed PAM capabilities in their applications, ensuring robust security and seamless functionality within the PAM360 environment.

Early last year, PAM360 started supporting SCIM 2.0 to exchange user data between SCIM-supported identity providers and the PAM360 application. Having identity providers' SCIM provisioning agents installed within the PAM360 server network helps administrators easily synchronize user and user group details between their existing identity management systems and the PAM360 application using the provided SCIM API.

Endpoint privilege management - ManageEngine PAM360

Endpoint privilege management

PAM360 offers end-to-end endpoint privilege management for Windows environments through its fine-grain application controls powered by ManageEngine's enterprise application control tool, Application Control Plus.

You can now narrow the attack surface by allowlisting and blocklisting applications on privileged endpoints, extend application control mechanisms to child processes, and align with the principle of least privilege by removing unnecessary local admin accounts on endpoints, thus extending PAM to endpoints across your enterprise.
