Failure to Schedule Inventory Scanning

Problem

You have scheduled Inventory Scanning, but it failed.

Cause

Scheduled Inventory Scanning may fail if the Firewall on machine running Endpoint Central Server blocks data.

Resolution

Unblock Firewall Port: Check if the Endpoint Central Port (default is 8020) is added to the exceptions list. Follow the steps to add the ports to the exception list:

  1. Go to Start and select Control Panel.
  2. Choose Windows Firewall.
  3. Select the Exceptions tab
  4. Click on Add Port button and add the ports as 8020 or your server http port and 8383 or your secure https port respectively.
