# BIOS Patch Installation Failed Last Updated On: 31 Oct 2026 A BIOS patch deployment can fail with the message **Patch Installation failed! Contact Support** and no further console remark. ## Logs to collect Collect the agent **dcdrv.zip** logs from the affected computer. Use the **dcdrvlog0** folder if it is present. If it is not present, use the **dcdrvlog1** folder. When generated, the package also includes a log named with the failed patch ID, in the form **<PatchID>_bios.log**. Include this file to investigate the BIOS installation failure. If that vendor log was not generated, report its absence with the remaining agent logs. A missing vendor log does not by itself identify why installation failed. Include `dcpatchinstallaccess.log` and `systeminfo.log` from the agent logs folder when available. Use the same computer and deployment attempt. Include the hostname, failed Patch ID, attempt time, full remark and deployment report. On Dell systems, if the BIOS log shows **Invalid Password(s)** or **Exit Code 7 (Password Validation failure)**, follow [Dell BIOS update failed: invalid password](https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/kb/patch-management/dell-bios-password-validation-failure.html). A generic **Failed Patch Deployments** remark alone does not establish a password failure. ## Related - [BIOS and Driver Updates](https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/help/patch-management/biosdriverupdates.html) - [Dell BIOS update failed: invalid password](https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/kb/patch-management/dell-bios-password-validation-failure.html) - [Troubleshooting patch deployment errors](https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/help/patch-management/patch-deployment-troubleshooting.html)
