Problem

You are trying to upload a self signed certificate and you get an error : "Self Signed Certificate Error".

Cause

You might get this error if WSUS server is located in a different machine and the remote registry service is not running, or Patch Connect Plus server does not permission to access the WSUS server

Resolution

Ensure that the "Remote Registry Service" is started on the WSUS server. You should also ensure that the WSUS server is reachable from the Patch Connect Plus server and has necessary permissions.

Set the following registry key:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Update Services\Server\Setup\
• Create DWORD value: EnableSelfSignedCertificates = 1
