# What access privilege is needed for the supporting VMware credential while discovering vCenter servers?

- All credential user types (Read only user, admin etc) are supported for VMware discovery in OpManager.
- Ensure that the credential being used **has access to all VMware hosts/VMs under the vCenter server.**
- Note that using 'Read only' type credential will enable the user to only monitor VMware resources, and any workflow related functionalities cannot be performed in the VMware devices.
- 'Admin' type credentials are required to perform all type of VMware tasks and workflow functions.
