Device categories help you classify similar devices such as servers, routers, and switches together. This helps you carry out functions easily and also helps you filter devices to carry out bulk actions such as associating thresholds, generating reports and more.
OpManager categorizes the discovered devices into the following default device categories. These classifications are done using the help of access credentials configured during device discovery.
You can also add your own infrastructure views to group your devices according to categories, or create business views to logically group devices, for instance, based on geography.
