Patch Upload Failed Checksum Mismatch

Patch upload failed with checksum mismatch when uploading:

• Java Runtime Environment 8 (JRE), or
• Java SE Development Kit 8 (JDK).

This happens when:

• The wrong installer is uploaded — for example, uploading a JDK installer while a JRE patch was expected, or vice versa.
• The installer file is corrupted or modified, which causes the checksum mismatch during validation.

Steps to Verify

1. In the upload patch view verify the patch name (what kind of file the system is expecting — JDK or JRE) and the uploaded file name (actual file uploaded). The uploaded file name should clearly match the patch type.

1. Verify installer file properties. On your computer:

   • Right-click the installer file and Click Properties.
   • Go to Details tab.
   • Check the original filename and version info (Ensure it matches what is required (JRE or JDK, version 8)).
   • Also verify the file name is not altered or renamed.
   

The filename and metadata should clearly state whether it's a JDK 8 or JRE 8 installer and the version number should match what the patch requires. If a mismatch is found, follow the resolution steps.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, try one of the following methods:

1. These are the download links of the Oracle applications: JRE 6, JRE 7, JRE 8, JDK 8, JDK 11 , JDK 13 and JDK 14 for Windows and JRE 8 for Mac. Select the correct installer (either JDK 8 or JRE 8). Download the exact version as required by the patch. Once you login to the application, the installer file will automatically be downloaded. Do not rename the file after downloading.
2. Click on Upload near the upload failed error message. The required patch will be reuploaded.
3. Otherwise, navigate to Patches -> Downloaded Patches -> Upload Patches ->Search for the Bulletin ID of the application which you want to install and click on Upload under Action.
