Strengthening Your Endpoint Defense

Deploying Endpoint Central alongside existing antivirus or next-generation antivirus solutions provides additional protection. This layered defense improves an organization's ability to mitigate threats as cybersecurity risks evolve. This document explains the benefits of integrating Endpoint Central with other security products to strengthen overall protection.

Combine traditional antivirus with Endpoint Central

Traditional antivirus helps protect systems, but it has limitations. Signature-based detection struggles with new threats, such as zero-day attacks, that lack pre-defined signatures. It scans files for patterns and compares them byte-by-byte with malware signatures in the existing virus database. If the patterns match exactly, it flags the file as malware. Attackers can change malware to avoid detection. A single byte change can prevent a signature match and reduce the effectiveness of signature-based detection. This detection method also lacks detailed visibility into program behavior. It can miss malware disguised as harmless files.

To address these limitations, Endpoint Central provides Next-Gen Antivirus. It uses advanced techniques, such as behavioral analysis, to identify suspicious activities, even from unknown programs.

Next-Gen Antivirus uses behavioral analysis to detect new malware and zero-day attacks that traditional AV might miss. It analyzes program behavior to provide a detailed view of system activity. This helps identify possible threats hidden in files that appear harmless.

Combining traditional antivirus signature-based detection with next-gen antivirus behavioral analysis creates multiple layers of defense and improves overall threat detection. This approach remains effective against established threats and provides protection against both common and sophisticated malware.

Additional protection with Endpoint Central

If you already use a security solution, Endpoint Central provides an additional layer of endpoint protection. The following features support this protection:

Endpoint Central provides more than basic threat detection. Its patented Anti-Ransomware technology targets ransomware behavior. The patented technology ensures less than one percent false positive alerts, which reduces alert fatigue. It can identify suspicious activities, such as rapid file encryption, and alert you immediately. Ransomware typically opens many files and replaces them with encrypted versions. The Ransomware Detection Engine monitors these unusual activities and promptly alerts users to possible threats. Regularly scheduled backups let you restore infected devices to their pre-malware state with a single click to neutralize the threat.

Attackers can quickly use infected devices to launch further attacks. Network Quarantine quickly isolates compromised endpoints to stop malware from spreading and help contain the attack.

Deploying Endpoint Central alongside your existing solution adds layers of defense.

Note
Deploying Endpoint Central alongside another EDR/AV product (e.g., CrowdStrike) does not cause a functional conflict. The solution agent whose engine detects the threat first takes the remediation action (blocking/quarantine). Do not assume that the other agent takes no further action on the same file. Its response depends on that product's behavior.

System resource usage

Endpoint Central has a lightweight design and uses minimal system resources to keep devices running smoothly. Some security software can slow down devices, but Endpoint Central runs efficiently in the background to maintain protection, performance, and speed.
