# Compliance data sync failure

## Problem

New files and changes related to compliance policies failed to be synchronized from the central vulnerability database with the error message - "Compliance data sync failed".

New compliance policies or changes related to existing compliance policies from the central vulnerability database synchronize regularly with the central server at 1 am everyday.

**Note:** This compliance data sync will not happen during the usual vulnerability database sync.

## Cause

One possible reason for the error "Compliance data sync failed" could be that your Network Firewall is blocking the data, as the firewall does not allow communication through port 443 and 80 and "sync.patchquest.com" and "patchdb.manageengine.com" are not added to the exception list of your network firewall.

## Resolution

1. Open the ports 443 and 80 to allow the firewall to communicate.
2. Add "sync.patchquest.com" and "patchdb.manageengine.com" to the exception list of your firewall. Ensure that your proxy server allows downloading the following files:
   - mssecure.sql
   - msnonsecure.sql
   - tusecure.sql
   - avsecure.sql
   - product.sql
