Patch Management

Here the possible failures as well as the different reasons for the same have been categorized and listed:

1. Manual patch scanning failure:
   • The network path was not found
   • Unknown username or password
   • No network provider accepted the given network path
   • Not enough server storage space is available to process this command
   • The storage control block address is invalid
   • Scanning Timed Out
2. Patch configuration failure:
   • Draft Download Failed
   • Problem while downloading the patch from the server
   • Incorrect Function or Unknown Error Code: 2359302 or Access Denied
   • The wait operation timed out
   • Fatal error during installation
   • %1 is not a valid WIN 32 application or The data is invalid or Data of this type is not supported
   • Unknown Error: 2145124329
   • Office Update Error
   • Patch Installation Failure -windows update service disabled Error: 1058
   • Patch Update Failure - Application is used by another process
3. Service Pack installation fails. Error message: Unknown Error Code-536870921
4. Scheduled patch scanning fails
5. No patches are listed in the Applicable and Missing Patches section
6. Automatic patch download or download and draft creation or download and deploy patches function not started. Message: Not Started
7. Problem while changing the patch-store directory. Error message: Invalid patch-store location
8. Patch installation fails. Error message: Fails with an unknown error code 1073741502
9. Cannot install Java and Adobe Flash Player updates
10. Scheduled automatic patch deployment. Status message on the screen: No Missing Patches Found
11. Patch Download failure
    • Patch download failure with Error 403
    • Patch download failure Error-407
    • Patch download failure Error Connection Time Out
    • Patch download Checksum failure
    • Google Chrome M78 Patch Download Failure
    • Audacity Patch Download Failure
    • Patch download failed Access Denied
    • Patch download failed - SSL Exception
    • Unable to download patches from the server - Error Code 404
    • Anti-virus Blocking
    • Connection Reset
