Restore

This section will explain how you can restore Zoho WorkDrive items and download the contents of a team.

  1. Log in to RecoveryManager Plus as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to the Zoho WorkDrive tab → Restore.
  3. Select the Team that has the WorkDrive folders and files that need to be restored or downloaded.
  4. In the Backup drop-down menu, select the schedule that contains the backed-up data of the WorkDrive team to be restored or downloaded.
  5. RecoveryManager Plus provides two views to explore objects in each backup:
    • Folder view: This is the default restoration view that provides a list of all folders that were backed up in the selected schedule. This view also contains information like the title of the backup, the number of items backed up during the last backup cycle, and the size of those items. Select the folder that you want to restore, and click the Review and Restore button.

      You can also download the entire content of the folder by selecting the folder and clicking the Download data button.

    • Note: In this view, you can download all the data in multiple teams and store them within your premises. Select the folders whose data you wish to download, and click the Download data button. Provide a name for the download job, the location where the data has to be stored, and an encryption password if you want to secure your downloaded folder's data.

    • Backup view: This view provides the complete execution history of the selected backup schedule, along with the number of items backed up during each cycle. Click the Review and Restore link beside the backup that contains the items to be restored.
  6. On the next screen that appears, the left pane displays the Teams Folder and My Folder.
  7. To view the exact representation of how your WorkDrive data looked at any point in the past, select a date and time from the Snapshot field and click Apply. You can restore any file or folder to its backed-up state.
  8. Clicking on the name of any folder will display all the files in the folder.
  9. You can restore or download an entire folder or just a few files.

To download the entire folder

  1. Select the folder from the left pane and click the Download button at the bottom of the screen. You can also use the search bar at the top of the left pane to search for a particular folder.
  2. Provide a name for the download operation.
  3. Provide the location where you want to store the downloaded data.
  4. If you want to encrypt the downloaded data to add an extra layer of security, select Encryption Password and enter it.
  5. Click Download.

To restore an entire folder to the backed-up version

  1. Select the folder from the left pane and click the Restore button at the bottom of the screen. You can also use the search bar at the top of the left pane to search for a particular folder.
  2. Select if the folder should be restored to the same location or a different one.
  3. If you wish to restore the contents to the same folder, select Restore to original location.
  4. If you wish to restore the contents to a different location, select Restore to different location, and click Browse. Select the folder under which this data has to be restored and click Next.
  5. Provide a name for the restore operation.
  6. You can choose to restore just the changed items or missing items by selecting the appropriate option.
  7. Click Restore to begin the restoration process.
  8. Click the Operation History link in the bottom-right corner of the screen to view the status of the restorations or downloads performed using the product. Clicking the View All link in the pop-up will take you to the Operation History screen. For more information on what the Operation History section provides, click here.

To download individual folders or files,

  1. Select the folder or file that you would like to download, and click the Download button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Provide a name for the download operation.
  3. Provide the location where you want to store the downloaded data.
  4. If you want to encrypt the downloaded data to add an extra layer of security, select Encryption Password and enter it.
  5. Click Download.

To restore individual folders or files to a backed-up version,

  1. Select the folder or file that you would like to restore and click the Restore Items button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select if the folder or file should be restored to the original location or a different location.
  3. If you wish to restore the contents to the same folder, select Restore to original location.
  4. If you wish to restore the contents to a different location, select Restore to different location and click Browse. Select the team and folder in which the items are to be restored and click Next.
  5. Provide a name for the restore operation.
  6. You can choose to restore just the modified contents, or the missing items by selecting the appropriate option.
  7. Click Restore to begin the restoration process, or click Download to download all the items. If you choose to download the items, provide a name, download path, and an encryption password if you want to encrypt your downloaded files.
  8. Click the Operation History link in the bottom-right corner of the screen to view the status of the restorations or downloads performed using the product. Clicking the View All link in the pop-up will take you to the Operation History screen. For more information on what the Operation History section provides, click here.

To download a particular version of any file

  1. Navigate to the file, hover over it, and click on View Versions.
  2. On the screen that appears next, you can view all the backed-up versions of the file.
  3. To download a copy of the file's version, click the download icon. Provide a location to store the item, and click Download.

To restore a particular version of any file

  1. Navigate to the file, hover over it, and click on View Versions.
  2. On the screen that appears next, you can view all the backed-up versions of the file.
  3. If you wish to restore any version of the file, click on the restore icon.
  4. Select if the file should be restored to the same location or a different location.
  5. If you wish to restore the contents to a different location, select Restore to different location and click Browse. Select the folder in which the file is to be restored and click Next.
  6. Provide a name for the restore operation.
  7. You can choose to restore just the changed or missing items by selecting the appropriate option.
  8. Click Restore to begin the restoration process.
  9. Click the Operation History link in the bottom-right corner of the screen to view the status of the restorations performed using the product.
