Performance Widgets

Performance widgets in Applications Manager help you visualize critical monitor metrics in dashboards. They highlight key data points such as top-performing resources, metric trends, tabular summaries, and threshold violations.

You can add performance widgets to dashboards to create a consolidated view of operational indicators. Based on the selected widget type, Applications Manager supports visualization options such as line charts, bar charts, area charts, dial charts, and table-only views.

Top N Monitors

The Top N Monitors widget displays a ranked list of monitors sorted by a selected performance metric. This helps you quickly identify top-performing or underperforming monitors across the selected scope.

Configuration options

OptionDescription
Widget NameSpecify the widget name that appears on the dashboard.
DescriptionProvide an optional description to identify the widget's purpose.
Filter by Monitor TypeSelect the monitor type for which performance metrics must be displayed, such as AIX, Windows, or MS SQL.
Primary MetricChoose the key performance metric based on which monitors are ranked.
Advanced Filtering OptionsApply value-based filters for the selected primary metric to refine the data shown in the widget.
Show Top N MonitorsSpecify the number of top monitors to display, such as Top 5 or Top 10.
Order by ValuesSort metric values in ascending order to show the lowest values first, or descending order to show the highest values first.
Select Time PeriodSelect Show Polled Data to display the most recent polled value, or choose an archived time range such as the last 1 hour or 24 hours.
Business RuleApply a business hour rule to evaluate metrics only during the specified working hours.
Enable Alarm Status for MetricsHighlight metric values using alarm status colors, such as red for Critical and orange for Warning.
Show Additional MetricsDisplay additional performance metrics in a tabular format along with the primary metric.

Graph and monitor selection

OptionDescription
Graph TypeChoose the visualization type: Bar Chart, Line Graph, Dial Chart, Area Graph, or No Graph for a table-only view.
Graph ScaleSelect No Scale to show raw values, Auto Scale to adjust the scale automatically, or Custom Scale to define minimum and maximum values manually.
All MonitorsDisplay top monitors from all configured monitors of the selected type.
Selected Monitor GroupsRestrict widget data to monitors that belong to selected monitor groups.
Specific MonitorsSelect individual monitors manually for inclusion in the widget.
Custom FieldsFilter monitors based on custom field values configured in your environment.

Performance Metric Widget

The Performance Metric Widget visualizes performance metrics for a specific monitor or a group of monitors of the same type. You can customize the display by choosing metric types, time periods, graph styles, and additional attributes.

This widget is useful for tracking key indicators of monitor health in graphical or tabular formats.

Configuration options

OptionDescription
Widget NameEnter the widget name that appears on the dashboard.
DescriptionProvide an optional description for easy identification.
Generate Widget ForSelect Single Monitor to visualize metrics for one monitor, or Multiple Monitors to configure metrics for monitors of the same type.
Filter by Monitor TypeSelect the monitor type, such as AIX, Windows, or MS SQL, to fetch relevant metrics.
Selected MonitorChoose the monitor instance whose data must be shown in the widget.
Primary MetricChoose the main metric to be visualized.
Select Time PeriodSelect Show Polled Data to show the most recent polled value, or select an archived duration such as the last 1 hour or 1 day.
Business RuleApply a business hour rule to restrict metric evaluation to working hours.
Enable Alarm Status for MetricsHighlight metric values using alarm status colors, such as red for Critical and orange for Warning.
Show Additional MetricsSelect additional attributes to display in a tabular format with the primary metric.
Widget ViewSelect Horizontal to display metrics in rows, or Vertical to display metrics in columns.

Graph options

OptionDescription
Graph TypeChoose Bar Chart, Line Graph, Dial Chart, Area Graph, or No Graph for a tabular view.
Show Graphs for Additional MetricsDisplay selected additional metrics in graph format along with the primary metric.
Graph ScaleSelect No Scale for raw values, Auto Scale to automatically adjust the graph from 0 to 100, or Custom Scale to define a minimum and maximum range.

Note:

  • In Multiple Monitors mode, only singular attributes are supported.
  • For table-level attributes, use the Tabular Data Widget.

Tabular Data Widget

The Tabular Data Widget displays performance data for a specific monitor or multiple monitors in a table for the selected time period. It is useful when you need to compare primary and additional metrics across monitors.

Edit options

OptionDescription
Filter by Monitor TypeSelect the monitor type to display metrics relevant to that type.
Primary MetricChoose the main performance metric to display. The metric list includes numeric and string-type attributes.
Select Time PeriodSelect Show Polled Data to show raw polled values, or choose another time period to retrieve aggregated or archived values.
Graph TypeSelect No Graph (Tabular), Bar Chart, Line Chart, or Area Chart for the primary metric.
Business RuleApply a business hour rule to limit the displayed data to specific time intervals, such as business hours, weekends, or custom schedules.
Enable Alarm Status for MetricsShow status-based colors for metric values, such as red for Critical, orange for Warning, and green for Clear.
Show Additional MetricsSelect other metrics to display with the primary metric in the table.
Sort BySort the displayed data by the primary metric or any additional metric in ascending or descending order.
Show Monitors FromDisplay data from all monitors, selected monitor groups, specific monitors, or monitors filtered by custom fields.
Filter by NameFilter monitors in the list by matching the text entered against their display names.

Note:

  • If a string-type attribute is selected as the primary metric, the Graph Type and Select Time Period fields are disabled because graphing is not supported for string values.
  • Graphs are shown only for the primary metric. Additional metrics are displayed in tabular format.

Threshold Breakers Widget

The Threshold Breakers Widget displays monitors that exceeded the configured thresholds for a selected performance metric. It helps you quickly identify resources that are currently in Warning or Critical state.

Note:

  • This widget lists monitors only when a threshold is associated with the selected primary metric.
  • The current alert status for the selected metric must be Warning or Critical.
