CSP SERVER MIGRATION
Migrate Cloud Security Plus to a new server
1. Stop services on the current server:
- Open services.msc and stop the CloudSecurity Plus service.
- Use an elevated Command Prompt in the bin folder to run:
shutdown.bat
2. Clean up running instances:
- Open Task Manager and switch to the Details tab.
- Enable the Image path name column, and confirm that no processes are running from the product's directory.
- If any are active, right-click them and select End process tree.
3. Transfer the installation folder:
- Compress the product folder present in the installation directory <dir>: ManageEngine\CloudSecurity Plus.
- Copy or move the compressed folder to the new server.
4. Restart the service:
- Go to bin folder and open Command Prompt and run InstallCSPAsService.bat to register CSP as a service.
- Once registered, you can start the Cloud Security Plus service from services.msc.
Best practice: It is recommended to retain the old instance for a day or two after migration. During this period, validate that log collection is functioning correctly in the new instance. Once confirmed, the old instance can be safely purged.
