How to synchronize the passwords of Oracle Database accounts with Active Directory using ADSelfService Plus?

ADSelfService Plus helps reduce password-related issues by ensuring that users can use the same set of credentials for different applications. With ADSelfService Plus’ Real-time Password Synchronizer, users' Oracle Database account passwords are updated whenever their AD passwords are changed or reset.

Steps involved:

  1. Log in to ADSelfService Plus web-console with admin credentials.
  2. Navigate to Configuration → Self-Service → Password Sync/Single Sign On → Add Application.
  3. In the dashboard that displays the list of applications supported by ADSelfService Plus, click Oracle Database. The configuration page of Oracle Database is displayed.

  4. Enter the appropriate Application Name.
  5. Select the desired policy from the Assign Policies drop-down list.

    Note: Password synchronization will only be enabled for users who are part of the selected policy.

  6. Check the box next to Enable Password Sync.
  7. Enter the System Name/IP Address of the Oracle Database.
  8. In the Oracle Schema name field, enter the instance name of the Oracle Database.
  9. Enter the Port Number.
  10. Type the Username and Password of an Oracle Database account that has sufficient privileges to change passwords and unlock accounts.
  11. Click Add Application.
