Steps to configure SAML SSO for BlogIn

About BlogIn

BlogIn is a simple internal blogging platform designed for teams and organizations to share knowledge, updates, and ideas in one centralized space. It acts as an internal communication and knowledge-sharing hub, allowing employees to post articles, announcements, and insights that can be accessed company wide.

The following steps will help you enable SSO for BlogIn from Identity360.

Prerequisites

  1. The MFA and SSO license for Identity360 is required to enable SSO for enterprise applications.
  2. Log in to Identity360 as an Admin, Super Admin, or Technician with a role that has Application Integration and Single Sign-on permissions.
  3. Navigate to Applications > Application Integration > Create New Application, and select BlogIn from the applications displayed.
    Note: You can also find BlogIn from the search bar located at the top.
  4. Under the General Settings tab, enter the Application Name and Description.
  5. Under the Choose Capabilities tab, select Single Sign-on and click Continue.

  6. Under Integration Settings, navigate to the Single Sign On tab, click IdP Details. Download the metadata file to be uploaded during the configuration of BlogIn in Identity360 by clicking Download from the Metadata field.

BlogIn (service provider) configuration steps

  1. Log in to BlogIn as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Settings > User Authentication.

  3. Scroll down to the SINGLE SIGN-ON section. Select the Enable users to access BlogIn via Single Sign-On(SSO) radio button.
  4. Click CONFIGURE SSO & USER PROVISIONING.

  5. Under the Single Sign-On tab, toggle the SINGLE SIGN-ON STATUS to ON.
  6. Enter Identity360 as the NAME.
  7. Under CONFIGURATION METHOD, you can configure metadata by either pasting metadata URL or importing metadata file.
    • Choose the Metadata URL radio button, paste the Metadata URL value as instructed in these steps.

    • Choose the Metadata file radio button and upload the metadata file downloaded in step 6 of the prerequisites.
  8. From the DEFAULT USER ROLE field, set the default user role (access level) for new users joining BlogIn via SSO.
  9. Click SAVE CHANGES.

Identity360 (identity provider) configuration steps

  1. Switch to Identity360's application configuration page.
  2. Enter your BlogIn Sub Domain value. For example, if your BlogIn account URL https://valocorp.blogin.com, then your subdomain is valocorp.
  3. Enter the Relay State parameter, if necessary.
    Note: Relay State is an optional parameter used with a SAML message to remember where you were or to direct you to a specific page after logging in.
  4. Click Save.

Your users will now be able to sign in to BlogIn through the Identity360 portal.

Note: For BlogIn, both SP-initiated and IdP-initiated flows are supported.

Steps to enable MFA for BlogIn

Setting up MFA for BlogIn using Identity360 involves the following steps:

  1. Set up one or more authenticators for identity verification when users attempt to log in to BlogIn. Identity360 supports various authenticators, including Google Authenticator, Zoho OneAuth, and email-based verification codes. Click here for steps to set up the different authenticators.
  2. Integrate BlogIn with Identity360 by configuring SSO using the steps listed here.
  3. Now, activate MFA for BlogIn by following the steps mentioned here.
