Steps to configure SAML SSO for HappyFox

About HappyFox

HappyFox is a cloud-based help desk and support-ticketing platform designed to serve customer support, IT service management, employee service desks, and operational workflows.

The following steps will help you enable SSO for HappyFox software from Identity360.

Prerequisites

  1. The MFA and SSO license for Identity360 is required to enable SSO for enterprise applications.
  2. Log in to Identity360 as an Admin, Super Admin, or Technician with a role that has Application Integration and Single Sign-on permissions.
  3. Navigate to Applications > Application Integration > Create New Application, and select HappyFox from the applications displayed.
    Note: You can also find HappyFox from the search bar located at the top.
  4. Under the General Settings tab, enter the Application Name and Description.
  5. Under the Choose Capabilities tab, select the Single Sign-on check box and click Continue.

  6. Under Integration Settings, navigate to the Single Sign On tab, and click IdP Details. Copy the Login URL and Signing Certificate values, which will be used later during the configuration in HappyFox.

HappyFox (service provider) configuration steps

  1. Log in to HappyFox as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Apps > Single Sign-on > Custom SAML Method.
  3. Under Basic SAML Settings section, you can disable the traditional username and password login method by turning on the Disable standard login for agent/contact toggle based on your organizational needs.
  4. Under the SAML configuration section, from the Choose SSO Provider drop-down, choose Custom Saml.
  5. In the SSO Target URL field, paste the Login URL value copied in step 6 of the prerequisites.
  6. In the IdP Signature field, paste the Signing Certificate value copied in step 6 of the prerequisites.
  7. Additionally, you can specify whether agents and/or end users should authenticate their login using SAML.
  8. Enable the Map Custom Field Values from SAML option to synchronize contact custom fields with the identity provider. Learn more.
  9. Click Save.

Identity360 (identity provider) configuration steps

  1. Switch to Identity360's application configuration page.
  2. In the ACS URL field, paste the appropriate URL:
    • For agent logins: https://<accountname>.happyfox.com/staff/saml/callback/
    • For all user logins: https://<accountname>.happyfox.com/saml/callback/
    Note: If you are using custom domain in HappyFox for user access, the ACS callback URL for custom SAML should be:
    • All users: https://<custom_domain>/saml/custom-saml/callback/
    • Agents only login: https://custom_domain>/staff/saml/custom-saml/callback/
  3. In the Entity ID field, paste the corresponding URL:
    • For agent logins: https://<accountname>.happyfox.com/saml/metadata/
    • For all user logins: https://<accountname>.happyfox.com/saml/client-metadata/
  4. Enter the Relay State parameter, if necessary.
    Note: Relay State is an optional parameter used with a SAML message to remember where you were or to direct you to a specific page after logging in.
  5. Click Save.

Your users will now be able to sign in to HappyFox through the Identity360 portal.

Note: For HappyFox, both SP- and IdP-initiated flows are supported.

Steps to enable MFA for HappyFox

Setting up MFA for HappyFox using Identity360 involves the following steps:

  1. Set up one or more authenticators for identity verification when users attempt to log in to HappyFox. Identity360 supports various authenticators, including Google Authenticator, Zoho OneAuth, and email-based verification codes. Click here for steps to set up the different authenticators.
  2. Integrate HappyFox with Identity360 by configuring SSO using the steps listed here.
  3. Now, activate MFA for HappyFox by following the steps mentioned here.
